When it comes to christmas crafts sometimes we want to do so much but can only fit in simple christmas crafts before the big day.

So here we have compiled 5 quick and easy christmas craft ideas for kids that won't take too long to complete and will keep them busy this silly season.

Project 1. Christmas Hat Stick Craft

You will need:

  1. Paint 2 sticks red per ornament and allow to dry
  2. Once dry, build a triangle using 3 sticks and glue with PVA or similar and then stick on cotton wool balls across the bottom and 1 to the top.
  3. Tie on multi-purpose string and enjoy!

Project 2. Snowflakes

You will need:

  1. Cut out paper into squares
  2. Fold in half, then half again, then on the diagonal, and so on until you have a triangle that can be cut into with scissors (amount will depend on size of original square) Don't make it too thick!
  3. Cut out the side or use novelty scissors with jagged edges to cut the sides.
  4. Try cutting a triangle out of the other side
  5. Open out and see your creation!

Project 3. Chenille Stem Trees

You will need:

  1. Cut the toilet rolls straight down the side and use sticky tape to stick them back together but in a conical shape
  2. Stick one end of the chenille stem to the bottom edge and wrap around. Take another and do the same until you reach the top.
  3. Use glue or a child-friendly (blunt) needle and thread to attach the pom poms and other decorations you may have onto the tree
  4. Star (optional) Shape up a star and leave a tail end to stick down into the top of the cone.

Project 4. Pom Pom Christmas Decorations

You will need:

  1. Using paint brushes cover most of the bauble in glue leaving a dry area at the base.
  2. Using tweezers or just your hands place each of the pom poms around the bauble and allow to dry
  3. Once dry you can finish the bottom edge with a few more pom poms and hang on your tree

Project 5. Keep it Simple Scrapbook

You will need:

  1. Create small books with a few pages using multi-coloured card 
  2. Allow children to develop their fine motor skills by cutting around the images they want from the catalogues
  3. Stamps (optional) Use stamps to add a different dimension and create stories!
